For the past 3 days I was getting the following message on my desktop : Windows 7 Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not Genuine.

Just came out of the blue ! I did virus scans, malware etc - nothing. All I did was a Microsoft Office Diagnostics (not Windows!) & a reboot, after this the message was gone ?!

The installed version of Office is an Enterprise version - which is counterfeit, unless you acquired it through your employer or college.

It may be that your problem was caused by something conflicting with the Software Protection Service - and the reboot reset it, or your running the diagnostics reset it.
If Validation failed for any reason, the system could set the notification until a re-validation occurred.
