    Open Windows Update
    Click on Change Settings
    Select 'Never Update...'
    Click OK
    exit Windows Update
    Now open Windows update again
    Click on Change Settings
    Select 'Update automatically'
    Click OK
    exit Windows Update
Open Windows Update, and do a manual Check for Updates.

Both CheckSUR and CBS/SFC logs are clear of significant problems.

Please see if the fixit here helps with your problem.....

What Anti-Virus and other Security Software are you running?

Please post an MGADiag report - it may show something...

we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response, inside a Code Box (# in the quick reply menu bar)

Please note that you have a counterfeit install of Office 2007 Enterprise Edition, based on a blocked Volume License Key.

Your Windows license is also a Volume one - please attempt validation at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate using Internet Explorer, and post back with a new MGADiag report.

    Which update is failing??
