    win 7 x64 SP1 TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE (0x800b0100)

    Hello,

I've been trying and failing to install SP1 (KB 976932) for some time and was hoping someone could kindly help.

On attempted installation through windows update i always get the dreaded (0x800b0100) error.

Firstly I ran the system readiness thingy and that seemed to run without any problems but didnt help at all.
So I tried downloading the SP1 from MS (Win6.1-kb976932-x64) and installing it that way but that results in the same problem. Also tried in clean boot mode to no avail. Pretty sure all my drivers and other updates etc are ok and up to date.

I ran sfc /scannow and have included my resulting CBS log file. Seems to be a few things not quite right to me, but thats where my knowledge stops!

Hopefully i've included enough info and someone can make sense of it.

    Many thanks.

I don't think that should take too long to fix -
While I'm readying a fix for you, please also run an SFC /SCANNOW and post the CBS log - see Windows Update Posting Instructions for details

    I've uploaded a file - eppaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder eppaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

    Good evening,

Many thanks for the swift reply, glad to report that it worked perfectly!

I copied in the missing / corrupt packages and manifests and ran the checks, and windows update downloaded and installed it first time with no problems.

I've included the logs for a final inspection.

Thanks very much, your time and efforts are seriously appreciated.
