The problem is that they won't install properly with the error messages showing in the MGADiag report.
To TwoCables - I enabled both of those, rebooted but it didn't change anything so I put them back to the way they were. After the fixes shown by NoelDP, they now both show as Started
Note to NoelDP - after the last actions done above, Windows Update installed about 20 updates. I'm still getting the "Invalid System Disk - Replace the Disk and press any key" on restarts though. I just hit a key and windows opens though. ????
When checking for more windows updates - there are no updates available for your computer

The boot problem would seem to indicate a problem with the BCD, or the bootloader process, or one of the system root drivers.
Have a look in the Device Manager - enable viewing of Hidden devices - and see if there's anything tagged with an error flag there.
I disconnected my 64GB USB stick and also disconnected my 2TB external drive that I use for Backups. The Image restore came from that drive after I installed the new internal HDD.
Now it boots up normally.
After a Restart I reconnected both and the message came back.
Tried them one at a time and it's the 64GB USB stick that's causing it. It's fine booting up with the 2TB external drive connected.
Is there something pointing to the 64GB USB stick to start windows.
Sounds like the boot order is wrong.
Check the BIOS and make sure that the onboard Hard Drive is higher in the boot priority than any external device
Sorry, not smart enough to do that.
Can you give me instructions for the BIOS thing
And should the USB stick be connected when I do this
Checked the device manager, everything is clean no red or yellow flags
Check your motherboard or machine manual for instructions - every board has its own quirks
I can't find anything on the HP website about the BIOS settings options, unfortunately - so it's difficult to advise.
Found this: very helpful:
How To Change the Boot Order (Boot Sequence) in BIOS
It shows the following: (But I'm not sure I want to change that since sometime I might want to boot from a USB stick made up for that, maybe I should just look at the USB stick and clean it?)
Boot shows as follows:
1st boot device CD-ROM Group
2nd Hard Drive Group
3rd Floppy Group
4th Network Boot Group
Floppy Group Priority - WD SES Device
CD ROM Group Priority - hp DDVDW TS-H653R
HDD Group Priority - WDC WD10EZRX-00A8L
Network Group Priority - Not Installed
The problem with the USB stick affecting the Boot went away when I moved it from the USB socket on my monitor to different USB socket.
Looks like all is well now
Thanks a whole lot
