    Windows 7. "copy of Windows not genuine"


    Hi, I bought my HP laptop a while ago and got windows 7 with it, however, I had to replace the harddrive, when I re-installed windows 7,it wouldn't take my key that was printed on my laptop and now I'm here.

    I ran the MGAD tool and here's my copy n pasta:

    You have a Dell Key installed on a HP machine - presumably the result of using a Dell recovery disk.
    If the COA sticker on the machine's case is for Windows 7 Home Premium,
    change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment), using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.

    You may need to activate by phone.
