Cannot install IE10 Update!

I have tried numerous times to install IE10. I have researched this issue thoroughly & have found no answer, All other updates will install - no problem. All my drivers are up-to-date. I even resorted to the MS "Fixit" to no avail.

    The event viewer reads:

I researched the error code & there are references to this code occurring with .Net Framework & SP1 updates, which had remedies I tried, but it doesn't solve the problem.

I usually can solve any of my PC issues on my own, but this one has me baffled.

BTW - I do not get an error code on the message box that says installation failed. It goes through the installation process, then reads "restarting programs" before getting the installation failed message.

I also tried installing with a clean boot - still no good. Also ran sfc /scannow.

I have no other issues with my PC other than this one! Please advise.

I have now attached the CBS.zip per posting instructions.

Also, the installation error code I get through Win Update is 9C59

I'm going to be out for most of the day - if Tom hasn't posted a fix for these, I'll check for the CheckSUR log when I get back in, and post a fix then.

    CheckSUR log

Sorry - I ran the SURT after creating the CBS log. I didn't know it would be stored in the same folder.

I'm attaching an updated CBS log that will include the SUR logs.

    Thanks much.

I'm attaching the new CBS folder for your review.

    Thanks, Shawn.

I tried the standalone .exe several times before my initial post - no go.

This is really strange. I hope IE 10 is worth all this trouble!

I'll wait & see if Tom can figure this one out! The people in this forum are the best.

    Hi Tom,

All of those errors are due to pure idiocy on my part, sorry about that! Let's try again:

    SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

    1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
    2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
    3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
    4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
    5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
    6. SFCFix will now process the script.
    7. Upon completion, a files should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
    8. Copy (Ctrl + C) and Paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Then run another SFC and post the CBS log please.

    Tom
