I started a search since I'm encountering the same issues with Windows Updates failing to install.

I did come across this problem before and I've been here before. After reading the posts, it jogged my memory and I remember the only way I got to fix this problem was to do a Windows "in place upgrade / install".

Running the windows setup from the disc "from within windows".
Insert the Windows installation disc, open "Computer" (Mine has a different name), open the Windows 7 disc and double click setup.exe, go through the installation procedure as an "upgrade".

Gonna run it possibly after I receive my new hard drives I ordered. I'm currently installed on a Laptop drive now temporarily.

I will post my results after.

There is very rarely any need to do a repair install -
Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data in your own new thread.

    Hoo boy...

I was just trying to help, as I stated... this was the only solution that worked to rectify my problem.
After trying everything I could find again, (All the Windows Update Fixes, The Microsoft FixIt Tool, etc.) I'm pretty certain that this will resolve the issue.
