If this was pre-installed as you say, then the installation should have been activated before you took possession of it. However, you said that you tried to activate it - why if it was already activated by the vendor? The diagnostic report clearly shows it has never been activated.

The fact that it refuses to accept the COA key, and MS doesn't recognise it, tells me there is a strong possibility you were conned into purchasing a System Builder OEM that will never activate.

How reliable is the vendor?

pretty reliable considering the fact that my buddy got the same one as i did and his works jus fine. unless thats how they get their money's worth by putting falty os systems in jus some of the computers...i really dont want to buy a new code, or new os

I still not clear on why you said you tried to activate it, but you also claim the vendor already activated it. The diagnostic clearly shows it never was.....

Since the support for this installation must come from the System builder (and not Microsoft), I suggest getting in touch with them and explaining the problem.
