You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.

    Update type: Important

It downloads, installs fine and then a few minutes later says the update needs to be downloaded again. I've restarted my PC and even tried using a direct download via the MS website but I'm still being told it's required to download. It showsi in my installed updates list once but still keeps offering it to me again and again.

Does anyone know how I can fix it?

You can try and download/install them directly, but it is best to post in this forum

I did try to download and install "the System Update Readiness Tool" from Microsoft Download centre. The download was successful but it didn't install at all nor I got any message. Installer was struck at one point for almost 15 minutes. So I cancelled it to report the error to you.
I am really thankful for your help and guidance

    Hi jovannis,

Download .Net Framework v4.5 from the following link and install it: Download .NET Framework Version 4.5 - FileHippo.com

Now restart your system and see if this helps sorting your problem out.

I was recently told that doing this might make one loose all data and might even result in the necessity of an OS reinstallation. So, dump this idea completely if you want to.

In order to help others to help you, please complete your system specs. Please include the antivirus tool you are using. This tutorial may help: System Info - See Your System Specs

I found this answer extremely interesting, as I, too, have been plagued with continuous offering of KB2656351. I never get an error message, and list of installed updates shows this, but it is still offered. Will .Net Framework 4.5 replace version 4.0 and make KB2656351 unnecessary?

    Thanks!

NetFramework 4.5 updates many components of v4.0. You have to see if it really helps. Updating NetFramework won't harm your system.
