So what does that mean? I have two accounts. The main account (admin) and the guest account. I don't use the guest account unless a doesn't work, then I try it on the guest account and it works. Otherwise, I only logon to my main account and that is where I have been doing everything you've been helping me with.

Download the Norton Removal Tool from here https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?lg=english&ct=united+states&docid=20080710133834EN&product=home&version=1&pvid=f-home

Close all other programs, then run the tool. When it's complete, reboot the machine whether it asks for it or not.

After the reboot, open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command

NETSH WINSOCK RESET

You'll be advised to reboot - do so.

After that,
Please download the Farbar Service Scanner from

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-service-scanner/

Right-click on the saved file and select 'Run as Administrator', and tick all the options, then click on the Scan button - copy and paste the report to your response.

I've deleted all the cookies. It still pauses every couple minutes. Is there anything else I can do to be able to run windows updates, open and use windows media player, create a restore point, run the troubleshooter, or run sfcscan?
