After clone Win 7 activation not available

My hard drive was failing so I cloned to new drive with Clonezilla. Now it says Win 7 is not authentic and I'm not able to enter activation.

    Thanks in advance for advice,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

You have a few corrupt files present on your computer which we need to repair:

    SFC Scan

    1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
    2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
    3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

      sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

      copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

    4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Unfortunately I can't run scan. It says: "There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again."

When I reboot it says it's reverting from a backup, reboots one time and then allows me to login.

    Thanks,
    Mike

clonezilla is a great tool. But it only clones.... doesn't adjust drive letters in registry and bootmenu.
System boots fine i assume? Dit you have to do a stsrtup repair? All drive letters are correct now?

"There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again."
    Is the exact message?

Boot to recpvery environt using F8->repair your computer
    Advanced Boot Options
Now enter "command prompt" in recovery environment.
What is the windows drive letter?
    Code:
    dir c:\
    dir d:\
    dir e:\
If you see windows folder, users folder and so on you have the correct drive letter (maybe different from normal win7 drive letter!). Assume it's E, I use that in this example

    Code:

    dism.exe /image:E:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
Replace E with actual drive letter
command succesful? Reboot normally afterwards and run sfc/scannow

Also check this System Protection - Turn On or Off
Configure it the way you want it. Disable it on fake drives.

Most of the time it's disabled after cloning.
Make a manual restore point System Restore Point - Create

    System boots fine.
Drive letter is C: in Explorer, but in System Recovery Options it says Windows 7 on (D:). Then at the command prompt in recovery it says X:
When I tried to run the command above at the command prompt, it said I needed to use the "Online" option as it was a running windows system. I didn't try anything further.

I made sure system protection was on and created a restore point.

One thing I didn't see was Advanced Boot Options. I booted with F8 > Repair your computer > Command prompt. Was that correct?

    Thanks,
    Mike

I booted with F8 > Repair your computer > Command prompt
    that's what I meant
Do it again please. In that command prompt

    Code:

    dism.exe /image:D:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
Yes D. Works? Still same problem?

I apologize Kaktussoft ... not having any luck.

Running dism.exe I got this: "The scratch directory may be insufficient to perform this operation. Use /ScratchDir option ...."
It also said there would be a log file in the \windows\logs\DISM folder, which was empty.

I tried scannow again but got the same error: "There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again."

I still have the original drive if it would be better to do the clone operation with another application that would make these drive adjustments.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Code:

    md D:\Scratch
    dism.exe /image:D:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions /ScratchDir:D:\Scratch
    Remove folder scratch afterwards
    Code:
    rd D:\Scratch
    dism command succeeds succesfully?
