IE9/IE10 Install Error 9C48 / CBS Catalog Corrupt

    Hey folks,

i have a computer with trouble installing IE9 and IE10.
Already did sfc /scannow and several times CheckSUR.
    Heres what CheckSUR says:

    Code:

        servicing\packages\Package_2_for_KB2699988~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~9.4.1.0.cat
I assume my problems would be fixed if i put the two "unavailable repair files" in the Windows\Temp\Checksur\... folder.
Unfortunately I don't have another x86 Win7 machine to copy the files from.
    Any help would be appreciated!

The PC is not overheating. RAM and other hardware has been tested. No problems there.

I thought I'd save you some time by just posting the essential data from CheckSUR.log. Only those two errors have been found. Like I said, SFC was done without result. Several things have been tried (like putting KB2699988 in the CheckSUR folder etc.). And the error from CheckSUR.log looks pretty obvious to me. So I'd like to try replacing the two corrupted files before going on to deeper analysis in case of a failure.

We still need the background data to check, and we may as well do it now :)
I'll sort out the missing payload files while you get the data uploaded.

    I've uploaded a file - hfnaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder hfnaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

...sorry - premature, as my connection is dropping every 30 seconds today (again! )
Keep trying and it'll show eventually.

Thanks for your effort. We have a partial success.
IE9 and afterwards IE10 installs fine now!

But CheckSUR does now produce some other errors.
Should that be further investigated or can I ignore those errors?
