Windows Update Fail - KB2472599 - Error: 800B0100

Did the best I could reading the posting rules for the forum and the Update forums, but please let me know if there's anything else I need to do.

I attached a screenshot of the Update that has failed to load for months now and the error code it gave me (both are also in the post title).

I was unable to download the SURT as I didn't see the correct one for my system and I wouldn't want to download the wrong one. For this reason I attached a screenshot of my system spec.s so if I need this for you to help me, you can let me know which to download. Also following the links on the Update posting rules took me to this link: I'm fairly certain my system is x32 based (could be wrong) which I don't see as an option.

Also, I'm not sure it helps but I saw that someone had, had the same Update fail but with different error code. I doubt it helps but just in case here's a link to his thread:

I did not follow those directions, I just thought I'd mention that it had been on here before.

This has been a problem for a long time now that I've been ignoring and when I got annoyed with it I found this site. I followed all steps in the Update posting guide (except the aforementioned 1st) but let me know if there's any other information needed. Hopefully someone can help me out, thanks so much in advance!

Can you run this FixIt in aggressive mode please?


You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an update from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server Update Services


Then try updating and post the logs if it fails - which is shouldn't

Thank you so much tom982!! It worked perfectly!! It was weird seeing the successfully installed symbol, I'd forgotten what it looked like !
