    Goto C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Network\Downloader what files do you have in that folder? Folder isn't accessible by default. Delete qmgr0.dat and qmgr1.dat there. Succesfully?
    The folder is empty

    The service is not listed in that tab.

    Regards,
    Post msconfig->tab general
    Post msconfig->tab services. Sort by service name. And maybe scroll a bit downwards so I can see all starting with B

    so post screenshots
    What about lists from Services in Admin Tools the list could be stretched right down and make just about three lists?? :)
    windows update and bits is not there in the admin tools list too.
    attaching the list of services in there.

    post screenshot.

    rightclick BITS there->security->advanced
    post screenhot.
    click "owner" who's the owner?

    BITS\performance has EXACTLY the same?
    BITS\security has EXACTLY the same?

    Thanks a bunch guys! Was also getting rid of malware from my system parallely. Tried Roguekiller and deleted some registries with some help from majorgeeks. Both services are back up now.

    Thanks again for your patience and all suggestions.

    It would helped if you'd said something about malware removal!!
    Using two different forums at the same time is frowned upon for good reason, as neither has any idea what the other is doing, and they can conflict.

    Whatever - glad you seem to be sorted, now.

    Apologies if that was not acceptable behavior. Will ensure total disclosure going forward.
