The errors are in the WindowsUpdate.log file, in a number of places.
They indicate that there is an error in the Windows Update Agent installation - but neither SFC nor CheckSUR can identify it.
I don't know enough about the Agent to be able to pin it down, but MS should be able to.
If you use the links I posted, you should be able to contact your local MS office. Some countries will charge for such calls, and some won't (I wish MS was more consistent in their policies!). I suspect that if they do charge, it's likely to be around 50-100. They will probably want to take remote control of your PC to identify the root problem and attempt to solve it.

Isn't there someone else on this forum who knows more about this issue? I will try to call MS but I'm afraid they will charge between 50 - 100 euros indeed. It happened to me in the past and I don't expect that their policy has been changed in the mean time. I'm not going to pay that amount for their software getting corrupted.

Do you think it's a registry problem? I use CCLeaner to clean up my disk and clean up my registry. I always let CCleaner save the registry and have a complete track record of those registries from the past. I could attach them if that would be helpful. Is that useful?

I also found a WindowsUpdateAgent30-x64.exe file on a Windows website. This website suggests that it can re-install de update client. This could be the solution for me but when I run the exe during a normal boot it gives me attached error message. Translated to English it says something like: "windows update installer encountered unrecoverable error". Any clue how to solve this?

Anybody an idea how to solve the Windows Update Agent error as described above? In my opinion this could be the solution for my problem when I'm able to reinstall the Windows update agent.

Sorry - I thought I'd responded to this.
The WindowsUpdate Agent is a highly complex piece of software in itself - the standalone installer contains over a thousand files, if I remember right.

Often the only fix is to do a repair install of Windows, and then re-download the update through Windows Update.
