Extra Updates
I'm running Windows 7 Pro Home, self installed on a Home built PC. These are the not mandatory updates. Are any of these worth installing? I hate installing updates that just screw up my PC.
Thank You Guys

I have all updates installed except Bing Desktop and Language Packs.
No problems here.
I don't install 3rd party drivers unless I verify. No Bing or Language packs if offered. I accept and install all other Windows updates.
You can Google all those KB's (one at a time) if you want to know what they are for. I'm betting most will be to block some outside/unknowen intrusion into your computer.
Good point on the drivers Jack!
For those I check them out and may manually install a driver from the manufacturer site.
I have let Windows Update install some drivers "lately", mainly because gregrocker recommends it.
I've been manually updating my drivers for so long...it's a hard habit to break.
Either way, creating a System Backup Image before installing updates is a great safety net...
I try to remember that when you see a 3rd party driver in Windows Updates it is just informing you that it is available.
Just because a new driver is available does not mean that one needs it.
Normally new drivers are to fix problems that some are having. If I'm not having that problem I don't install it. (Example: Nvidia)
Just add to myself to the list of people with no problems with Windows Update, I install all the Windows Updates apart from Bing and Language Packs.
Usually, people have problems with Windows Update, because something is wrong with their installation. For example, not even genuine to begin with.
