Product key invalid after using bootrec to fix BOOTMGR error

This morning when I started up my work pc, it failed to boot and displayed "BOOTMGR is compressed' error. (Yes, it was my fault) I googled the solution and followed instructions from here. I had made a USB install disk for the purpose and had successfully fixed the problem. Windows booted like normal. All was fine I noticed "30 days to activate. Activate windows now." in the System properties window. It is a genuine copy and I think solving the BootMGR problem wrecked the activation. How do I fix this without paying for a new product key?

Note: The phone option was NOT available in the Activation window. Or else I would have chosen it.

The problem is that you are attempting to install Windows 7 Ultimate, but your SLP is for OEM (builders edition). MS never released Windows 7 Ultimate as an OEM product.

The translation is correct - but the reasoning is wrong :)
The problem is that the Product Key is from an Acer computer - and only valid on that make, when the appropriate SLIC table is present in the BIOS.
The Motherboard here is a retail Gigabyte one - which cannot support a Key of this type.
    The installation is therefore counterfeit.

Ultimate HAS been released as OEM - all major manufacturers had it as an option.
You need to reformat and reinstall using genuine media and Key.
