I JUST WANTED TO RESTORE MY PC!!! and now Windows is not genuine.

I bought my laptop from Aarons, and when I was done paying on it, I decided to restore it to factory, so the PC wasn't labeled Aarons, but my restore folder was empty. I went to the HP website thinking there was a way to just download the restore information from the drivers page. I couldn't find anything, so I went to the HP forum and said that I already have windows on this computer, but my restore folder is empty. Is there a way to get the restore information/disc/files so I can restore, without buying windows. After she had me try a bunch of things I already did, she told me to download an .ISO. So I did and used my product key on the bottom of my laptop. For the past week, it has been popping up a window saying, my product key is not valid for activation.

I JUST WANTED TO RESTORE MY PC!!! and now Windows is not genuine.

Is there a LEGIT way for me, to activate windows or something without paying or getting crazy in the command prompt. I will use command prompt, but I never feel like I know what I'm doing, and that bothers me. If I'm past he point of no return, I will buy windows if needed.

I thought your Product Key was always good, but is that only with the original version of windows the key came with. Would something like these help: hp 64 bit windows 7 recovery disk - Google Search

After I did it, it said I was genuine, but there was a box that popped up when I was done that said something like, you might be a victim of software ?something? you will not be able to get updates or use all of windows software. Was this box already up, but I didn't see it till I was done and closing everything? Is my Windows genuine now?
