How many version of .NET Framework do you have on your machine?

Then:
I'd like you to check some settings for me, go to: Start >Administrative Tools >Services, when the Services window opens scroll down to: Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN

This is what mine looks like:
Attachment 283143
  • How many Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN versions do you have?
  • How are yours set?

Okay, but how about the first question? Is .NET 4.5 the only version you see when you go into "Programs and Features"?

There should be two, .NET 4 client profile, and extended.

Okay,
The reason I asked is because each successive .NET framework is built on each preceding one. Version 2 needed 1, version 3 needed 2, and version 4 needed 3, but some time after Windows 7 was released and through .NET updates all previous versions have been removed in "Programs and Features" and absorbed into the newest version, and if you did have any earlier versions we would have had to try and repair them, since you don't it is a moot point. What you're showing is a "good thing".

Now, please answer each question in the order given.

I see you're showing Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) as you're antivirus program, did you have any third-party antivirus installed before using MSE?

Open MSE and click on the History Tab; Are there any entries in the Quarantined section? Click on the radio button, any in the Allowed Items section? or the All Detected Items section?

Next, click on the Settings Tab; then check each listing for exclusions:
  • Excluded files and locations.
  • Excluded file types.
  • Excluded processes.
Are there any entries listed?

After you know the answers and before you send your reply you can try turning off "Real Time Protection" there in the settings tab, and try to run those updates again, but remember to turn "Real Time Protection" back on before you jump back on the web.

Nope, i do not have any third party anti virus before using MSE.

i have one item in the Quarantined Section : VirTool:Win32/Obfuscator.ZX, Alert Level: Severe.
No items in the Allowed Section
One item in the All detected items: SoftwareBundler:Win32/DealPly, Alert level: medium, removed.

No entries listed in all all the three exclusion.

off "real time protect" but still getting the error code 66A

It is still sitting there?
What happens if you click on it to highlight it, does any of the "Remove" "Remove All" buttons darken from "grayed out"? If you can, try to remove it.

You can also try running: Microsoft Safety Scanner - Antivirus | Remove Spyware, Malware, Viruses Free

If its being stubborn try this:

When you are finished you can try the "updates" again, I would also like you to run: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions. I know you haven't had any BSOD's, but this will tool will gather information that I would like to look over.

When you finish running the tool and have the resulting file saved to your desktop Please do not post in that Forum, post it here in your next reply.
