Installing Internet Explorer 10, Error 9C59

    Hi,

I keep on getting 9C59 error code while trying to install Internet Explorer 10 through windows update. I also fail to install using the standalone installer.
    Please assist me.

    Thanks

I can see no errors in either the CBS or CheckSUR logs

In my limited experience, this can mean that the installation of IE9 is actually blocking the installation of IE10 somehow.

I would first try uninstalling any add-ons for IE9 that are currently installed - if that doesn't work, then uninstall IE9 itself from the Installed Updates listing, and then reinstall it, update it, and try for IE10 again.

    Hi Noel,

Thanks for the reply. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the IE9 several times, but still unable to install IE10 with the error 9C59.

Does this mean that i am at the worst case scenario that i have to reformat my windows just to install IE10?
I hope there is a better alternative..

In that case, I would suggest that your next step would be a Repair Install - which will hopefully leave your data and applications intact (as always, back up to external media first!)
