    Have we tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE9 yet? - this often fixes the problem we're currently seeing (in the absence of any other identifiable errors)

    If not, go to Installed Updates and uninstall IE9 from there, reboot twice, then reinstall it and go to Windows Update to update fully again before attempting to install IE10

    Cannot uninstall!
    1) Tried to uninstall IE9 as you suggested and got access violation
    2) Searched for a solution and found http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2579295:
    Option 1 Fixit didn't do the job
    Option 2 command line gave me the following:

    Looks like
    IE9 is stuck and this may cause the IE10 install problem ...
    What can be done!

    Very interesting - the CAT files are all different sizes to the standard (i.e. the ones in my system:))
    Please copy a couple of them to your desktop, and then zip and attach them to a reply
    I'll see what I can see, but I suspect that have been infected by a virus, and improperly cleaned.

    They appear to be valid CAT files - but for some reason are dated 2 years after the ones that I have.
    Virustotal gives them a clean bill of health.

    I'll have to check and see what I can find.

Hi, installation of IE10 on Win7 pro x64 always fails with error code 9C59. "Help on this error" shows error code: "WindowsUpdate_00009C59" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" I have IE9 installed. What I tried by now: Installation of IE10 using Windows update.

Windows update for IE10 on Windows 7 64bit fails continuously with error code 9c59. I tried the stand alone updater with the same results. All other windows updates complete successfully, it's just IE10 that continually fails. Don't know if this is related but I do have problems with IE8...

Have spent all afternoon trying to sort this and am close to giving up but thought I would post some logs in here in one last attempt. Have completed all important and optional Windows updates but the installation of IE10 fails everytime with error 9C59. Have tried manual download and same issues....
