One Update for August Win 7?

Hi

My last Windows update was in July when there was a bundle of updates. This time since there were no automatic updates I went the manual route. Only the Malicious Software Tool was updated. Yet I am aware that there are a number of critical updates available, particularly Internet Explorer.

So why have these critical updates not been picked up?

I have used the troubleshooting tool in Windows (for Win 7 Updates) which says everything is OK and I downloaded a FixIT tool from Microsoft which found no problem.

I am using IE 9 which for some reason has not updated to IE 10

Could anyone offer suggestions on how to proceed next.

You can try this update reset...

...it is a bit different than Microsoft's FixIt.
