    Windows 7 Activation Error 0xC004c008


    A notification appears saying that I cannot use this product key to activate this version of Windows. I have my own installation disks and product key that I purchased myself. I recently upgraded my computer with new hardware, that including a hardrive. Therefor, my copy of Windows was re-installed onto a new hardrive, using the same product key.

    Also, it says my copy of Windows is not Genuine, which doesn't make any sense to me, as I used the installation disks. What step do I need to take to make this a genuine copy and have it activated under my product key?

    Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

    Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.

    Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

    I don't have a COA Sticker, I only have the sticker of the product key for my Copy of Windows.

    SLUI 4
    and hit the Enter key
    follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you
