No, you didn't mention that. You can use either method, you need to have a separate product key for each computer though.

I'll try the universal disk first then so when I take all the updates they will be for the pro version just in case there's different updates for the two versions plus, I'm already using the home premium key on my other tower. I hope my ups truck gets here early tomorrow but, usually they wind up getting here in the evening. I have a second drive in this tower I use for a backup image should I unhook it while installing to the new ssd? Thanks!

Most updates are the same across versions, some optional updates are only for higher versions, like the language packs for ultimate.

Some have 32 or 64 bit versions. Yes, I would unplug all other drives when installing.

I know what you mean on the UPS truck, they come down my street early except when I'm waiting for a delivery.
