Not Genuine...sometimes ...

I bought Win 7 Pro direct from Microsoft. I've been running it ever since without a problem until about three months ago. Now every so often (theres no pattern I can tell) I get the "not genuine" warning on the bottom right of my desktop. To remove it I right click "computer" in the start menu and click "properties" and the "not genuine" warning goes away. Here is the report

This looks to me to be counterfeit.

The OEM_SLP Key in use, and the SLIC Table are both from Acer - but the motherboard is a retail one.

The activation has therefore been enabled by a hacker's Activation Exploit

Microsoft do NOT sell install disks with Acer Keys.

If you License from Microsoft is for Windows 7 Professional, use the You need to reformat and reinstall using genuine media and Key.

Thank you for your reply. I can guarantee you that it is not a counterfeit. I purchased the OS from Microsoft. There has been no Hacker software or "Activation Exploit" installed or ran on this machine. The mobo is an Asus and the computer is home built. Besides, if it is a fake then why does the warning go away when I click on start/computer/properties (or control panel/system)? and why does it update etc. without any problems? Strange. Stranger that it started doing this just a few months ago out of the blue. But thank you for the input.

I can guarantee that the current installation IS indeed counterfeit.

The License type is 'OEM_SLP' - which is ONLY valid on machines pre-installed with the OS at the factory.
The fact that a SLIC table shows in a retail motherboard means that there MUST be an Activation Exploit present.

If you got this product from Microsoft, then it should a Retail License - since Microsoft do not sell any other type to the general public. Does the Product Key in your paperwork agree with the installed Key?
