Activate/Genuine problems after 3 years
Hi, I have started having activation issues and not genuine warnings after nearly 3 years of using my PC. Here is my current situation.
When I am connected to the internet,
Computer > Properties shows "Windows Activated" and the Genuine MS logo.
MGADIAG shows "License Status: Licensed"
When I am disconnected from the internet,
Computer > Properties shows "3 days until automatic activation. Activate Windows Now"
MGADIAG shows "Additional grace period (KMS license expired or hardware out of tolerance)"
I use this PC as a DAW (i.e. strictly for music production). It is disconnected from the internet for long periods of time. I am seriously worried about this activation issue I can't overstate how worried I am.
Here's the history
Sep 2010
I bought an i7-930 PC desktop, Windows 7 Professional x64 OEM on a disk (not preinstalled), and SSD from one of the most reputable computer stores. I installed the SSD, and then installed Windows 7 and activated without a hitch. From Sept 2010 to 15 Aug 2013, I had no activation or genuine copy warnings. 3 years.
July 2013
I upgraded from my 60GB SSD to 240GB SSD by copying the 60GB to 240GB, and there were no problems. I then upgraded from 6GB to 18GB RAM. Again no issues. Do I need to rebuild license store because it's a new SSD disk? Again, I had absolutely no issues after this.
15 Aug 2013
I installed a TI Chipset firewire PCI card. This is how the problem started. Immediately on rebooting, I got the not genuine copy warning for the first time in 3 years. I activated using my product key successfully.
Yesterday after I installed and uninstalled "Asio4All" (a generic ASIO driver I used for testing), I got the not genuine copy warning again. But I was able to re-activate successfully by entering my product key. And this brings us to my current situation that I described at the beginning of this post (i.e. still not fully activated).
Please help!
