8007000D error Cannot update service pack 1

8007000D error Cannot update service pack 1, just did a restore to factory. Used a brand new service/recovery disks bought directly from acer for an aspire 5336-2524.

Everything else is fine but continually fail to update and install service pack 1.

I tried the suggested help center and the fixer application which said it fixed something and to try again but I cannot get updated to Service Pack 1 for Win7

    "Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932) - Download size: 73.6 MB - 892.6 MB"

There are 9 other updates but I cannot update them either, together nor one at a time.

Update: I tried this, but no go, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
I used 64 bit version. It said it failed, I shut down not restart, it said it was installing 8 updates during shut down, HD contiued to run after screen went black, I waited until HD light went out, restarted, went to look for updates, It first said only 3 remaining then the daXn thing changed while I was looking at it and it changed back to 9 available updates, OMG!

I need some help here gang!

    Hi mawil1013,

    I noticed your trying to install a 64-bit SP1 version on a 32-bit machine!
    (according to your specs):

    Code:
    "Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932) -
    Download size: 73.6 MB - 892.6 MB"
Try the Update readiness tool for x86 machine:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3132

Failing that, try installing SP1 using a standalone installer:

Download Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932) from Official Microsoft Download Center

You want to download and install this version:

    Code:

    windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe - This application installs SP1 to a
    32-bit machine running Windows 7.
If it still fails, try installing the SP1 update with your Anti-virus disabled, and internet connection disabled.

Remember to enable AV if you are successful.

    Hope this helps.

    cheers

    Dave
