    1 "critical" update not installing

    Hello techie folks,
I have one update that won't install. It's been trying for a couple of months. I'm trying to install KB2839894 but I get error 80070490 which is MS speak for "I don't know". I ran the update repair tool a few times but still get the same error. So, I ran a file system scan with showed no errors. Ok so here's my CBS logs. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.
    Tnx,
    Dusty

    I know the feeling!

I'm afraid the news is not good - There are a huge number of errors in the CheckSUR log, and it's likely that they result from severe corruption of the registry.
Your best option is to attempt a repair install of Windows.

Thanks, not so good news but not as bad as I thought it might be. The effort is much appreciated.
