    What AV are you using? (CRS strikes!)
    It's worth trying again after uninstalling the AV and running the manufacturer's cleanup tool

    I have gone back to the factory settings using my recovery disk - am gonna hope I 1)get my money back or 2)microsoft give me a original I can sell on for my money back or close to it.

    E(vil)Bay is one of the worst places to buy software from. Keep in mind, reviews can be faked and bad ones deleted.

    ... many fakers have multiple accounts and sell between themselves to pump up the numbers.

    Someone once assessed that around 80% of 'new' software on eBay was counterfeit.

    Just to add to own thread again - I posted the counterfeit product to microsoft which there have recieved and sent me a email with says a complimatey kit is on the way which can take 4-6 weeks. Was only posted thesday

    am told by microsoft a Complimentary kit is been shipped to me so maybe I'll have the last laugh. Does any know if it will be the same version i sent to them as the note doesn't say.

    If I remember right, it'll be Pro - with a supplementary EULA restricting it to use on the affected machine.
    The good thing is that you get the other benefits of it being a Retail license, such as 90 days free MS support for software problems.

    My complientary kit has arrived from microsoft (win 7 ultimate 32 and 64 bit disks)
    Is this the full version as I want to sell it on ebay for my money back
