Can't install Internet Explorer on Windows 7 x64, error 9C41

Hello,
I've had troubles installing IE10 on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 from both Windows Update and the standalone installer, so after a lot of reading and trying on my own, I decided to ask for help here.
1. I tried to run the System Update Readiness Tool, but it fails with the message "Only one instance of wusa.exe is allowed to run".
2. The System Files Check scan finishes with the message "Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
3. I was getting the error code 9C41 in Windows Update when I tried to install IE10, now after uninstalling IE9 I get the same error code for it, so I'm back to IE8.
4. I removed some of the older .cab files in the CBS folder because of the 8 MB limitation on uploaded attachments.
Reinstalling the operating system just for IE is out of the question, so if anybody with enough patience could lend a hand I would be grateful.
Thank you in advance.

Windows 7 x64 SP1

Hello again,
I want to let you know that I found a solution to my problem, it was pure luck, I can't believe it took me so long .
Long story short: while installing the updates from WU, before the "Creating a restore point..." message dissapeares, I quickly shutdown the computer and was presented with the "Please do not power off or unplugg your machine, installing updates..." screen.
After the restart IE 10 is up and running, I don't know what the problem was, maybe something to do with permissions...
Anyway, I hope that maybe someone else could use this ghetto fix to solve their problem and maybe someone smarter could understand what is really happening.
Please excuse my poor English.

Welcome to the Seven Forums.

When you say, "I quickly shutdown the computer and was presented with the "Please do not power off or unplugg your machine, installing updates..." screen." Did you force it to shut down anyway or did you wait for the update processes to complete?

I clicked the shutdown button with the yellow shield on it and I waited for the updates to install and the computer to turn off, I didn't force the shutdown.
