    Startup reapir loop.

Hello guys, recently I have been having some trouble with my computer on startup. Last night I finally updated my windows 7 (apparently a bad choice) and now when I start it up I get something that says "Loading Windows Files..." Then, "Startup Repair is checking your system for problems" this goes on for about 5-10 minutes then the system restarts and continues. It's a constant loop.

Yes, I went ahead and tried to boot in safe mode by press F8 upon start but all that does is create a loud beeping noise that does not stop until the computer is shut off. Is there any way to fix this? Most of the default options I've looked up don't work because I can't get anything to open.

Any ideas? I really need my computer tommorrow for school.

    HP Pavilion dv7, 8GB RAM, 1TB Hardrive, Core i7 2.80ghz.

This didn't work, I realized that when the recovery options were opening it was opening from my D: drive for some reason rather than my C: drive. It's almost like Windows "lost" my C: hard drive.

It sounds as if maybe your hard drive has died, what HDD do you have so we can try to find a diagnostic tool?
