Looks like a kernel mode driver, so at a guess that could be the fella giving you problems.

Greg I am not familiar with that. Will look into it and give it a try.

I now have two computers which are unreliable as far as booting into it is concerned. Very shaky.

I had a problem with KB2862330 as well. This is an update for USB drivers/kernel-mode drivers and it causes problems on some PCs. On the Microsoft Answers Forum, many others have complained about problems with this update.

In my case It caused a blue screen stop:0x000000CA after restart. I had to do a disk image restore and then I installed each update one at a time. Very tedious. When I got to KB2862330, it installed, then after restart, I got the same Blue Screen. KB2862330 was definitely the culprit. I did another disk image restore, skipped installing KB2862330 and installed the remaining updates. No more Blue Screen and now my PC is running normally again as it was before.

Another botched update by Microsoft. They should have tested this update more thoroughly.

There is no reason the restore with an image, just System Restore from System Recovery Options. This is what it is for, why it should never be turned off, and more disk space apportioned if possible for System Protection - Change Disk Space Usage

Well, I have given up on one computer and am presently installing Windows 7.

I have been working on both computers since early this morning and it is nearly 9 P.M.

I'm afraid the same will apply to the main computer also. I have never seen so many light blue screens. That's what they are both booting into most of the time.

Sure wish I had some help- but I don't.

It's not good to push yourself to fatigue because this causes mistakes.

I'd hew as closely as possible to these same steps for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to assure a perfect install based on what works best for Win7 in countless installs we've helped with here.

If you'd like me to connect to set up your install as given then install Free TeamViewer Download at all defaults and PM back to me the ID and password. You can Skype me during install at greg rocker.

I am setting up the living room computer. Just installing motherboard drivers.

This one (my main one) cannot install the last two updates. When I restart the computer after installation, they boot into that dreaded light blue screen. Been trying for hours.

If it's causing that much trouble I'd just hide the updates till Noel or Tom show up to help with that.

You can hit the report button and ask to have this thread moved to the update forum.
