THis copy of Windows is not genuine. Build 7601

I recently had to reimage my pc with the Windows 7 Disc provided to me from Dell, now a month later I get this error. I already ran slmgr -rearm command, but this will show up again in 30 days and don't want to have to reimage again. Any suggestions?

Try online activation using the Product Key on the COA sticker attached to the PC or laptop. Report any errors.

Product key on computer is not readable anymore .

I've had this same thing happen at work with images that we built through Dell. Doesn't happen all the time, but about 1 out of a 100 will show this. I usually just reimage them, but not looking to that here at home.

Did this PC ever hold Vista or XP?

I've had to use this disc about a year ago and didn't have this issue. This is the disc that came with the pc from Dell.

That's not possible....your BIOS predates Windows 7 release. Windows was release in late 2009....your Bios is dated mid 2008.

At any rate, your stuck unless you locate your product key.

Hmmm... that's interesting. Wonder why it show that for the BIOS date.

The installed license is an OEM_SLP License for Windows 7 - valid only on machines where the OS was installed by the manufacturer.
This machine has a BOIS SLIC table for Windows Vista - which is NOT valid for Windows 7
The BIOS date is for Dec 2008 - which supports the idea that this machine originally shipped with Vista installed, rather than Windows 7

Windows 'free upgrades' to Windows 7 used OEM System Builder disks and Keys, and not OEM_SLP Keys.
