the product key can not be activated message after 2 years

Hi,

I have my computer since 2 years (legaly bought in a shop) and now he is telling me that i have to activate my windows ("the product key can not be activated") .
But when i go to "Buy a new productcode online" the site is telling me that i have a legal version and that i do not have to activate my version.

What can be wrong ? Nothing is changed to my hardware or so.

Ignore errors produced when clicking on theCopy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup filesfor some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to yourresponse.

Please also statethe Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one)on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOTquote the Key on the sticker!

Interesting - I think this is the first MSI SLIC table I've actually seen!
The installation is complaining because you have the wrong Product Key installed.

For which version and edition of Windows is the machine licensed, according to the COA sticker on the case?

IF the COA sticker is for Windows 7 Ultimate, then you need to change the Product Key to the oneon the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the batterycompartment), using the Change ProductKey link at the bottom of the System properties page.

If the sticker is for anything else, then the current installation is counterfeit - and has possibly been so since you purchased the machine. It may have had a hacker's Activation Exploit installed to circumvent activation/validation requirements, which broke down when you installed an update (SP1?) or reinstalled the system.

You may need toactivate by phone.

thanks for the answer.
The problem with the sticker is that i cannot read whats on it anymore.
But why i get the message from MS that when i want to buy an new productkey, i am getting the message that (after inspecting my machine) my windows if OK and that i don't need to buy a productkey ?
And why he is complaining after 2 years ?

..because you have a DELL Product Key installed in an MSI computer - and that is not allowed.

Your best action is to use your proper MSI Recovery media for this machine to reinstall the OS.
