    I've uploaded afile - fzkaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive

    Please downloadand save it.

Right-click onthe downloaded file, and select Extract all…

Extract to thedefault location - which will create a new folder fzkaain the same place.

Open this folder- there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to thefolder

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Nowrun the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Postthe new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Here's the errors from your CheckSUR log -
    Code:

     servicing\packages\Package_for_KB2618444~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~9.4.1.0.mum
     servicing\packages\Package_for_KB2618444_RTM~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~9.4.1.0.cat
     servicing\packages\Package_for_KB2618444~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~9.4.1.0.cat
I'll post a fix protocol for them later.

    PSCO2007

MS will no longer provide free support for Windows Updates - except under exceptional circumstances (and who knows what that means)

    Both:
99% of the time we can fix these errors in the forum - and with a lot less hassle than being on the phone to MS for 6 hours going through their support scripts :)
MS will no longer provide free support for Windows Updates
Sorry to disagree - I called and the problem was solved in 5 minutes with a remote. (no charge)

Whatever it was you did, it wasn't right :)
    still the same errors.

Did you copy the CONTENTS of the Packages folder (right) to the folder in temps, or did you copy the folder (wrong)?

    That certainly looks right!
    Maybe it's me...
Ooops - got the wrong file versions!

    I've uploaded a new file - fzkab.zip - at the same place
    Use the same procedure.

    Sorry about the confusion!!
