Reinstalled windows, windows update won't run and other issues

    CheckSUR only 'installs' an update - it's the log file that it creates that is important.
    we MUST see that file (CheckSUR.log) if we're to get anywhere.
    If the forum won't allow you to upload it, use your favourite fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or SkyDrive)and post a link.

    There's nothing untoward in the CheckSUR log - the 'errors' it found are normal for an IE10 install on Windows 7

    There are no errors in the SFC log - but there are some minor errors in the background CBS.log. These errors don't usually cause us problems.

    Please post the c:\windows\windowsupdate.log file, it may give us something to work with.
