Thanks for the suggestion. I did disable ESET on previous attempts, but it restarts on the next reboot. That was the best option offered by ESET. I'll try disabling ESET at Windows Start-up. If that doesn't work then I think a complete reinstall is probably my next course of action. Uninstall all my important programs, drivers etc is a real pain. Another weekend spent on this annoying problem is far from appealing.
Does anybody know of a quick way to save all the device drivers?
That is unless the appeal of a nice new Mac tempts me too much. I guess they aren't perfect either, or cheap!
