I do not speak English(not 100%), but I can say I am in middle level :P

I think did you think I said that the WD was not marked for download(off). The WD is marked and ready to download(on). But I did not because I think that's enough with the AV.

If Windows Defender is properly disabled it should not be asking for updates - and such updates should not be failing anyhow! :)

You recommend I install and use the WD ?

And that other programs do you recommend to stay protected :)

PLEEASE - read what I actually wrote, and not something else!

If ESET is properly installed, then Windows Defender should be properly disabled, and should NOT be asking for updates!

Sorry, I do not know much about software... I did not know that having a AV, would no longer receive notifications of WD(I have already, but it is the old version. The one listed will be the new version, right).

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-service-scanner/ is safe to use ?

and when I go to the link for more information about the removal tool malware http://support.microsoft.com/kb/890830,
    window appears "Microsoft Fix It"

with that which will check if I need to download, and if not necessary, I will not receive notifications to download and upgrade the WD ¿?

*I read somewhere that someone also noticed that the WD was active even with the AV(other) installed.
So I think it does not hurt to have both... ¿?

    Hello 3colors,

Reading through this thread, I see you have not completed any of the tasks you were instructed to perform.

Is it hard for you to understand English? If so, we can help you through each step.

First you were asked to follow these instructions Windows Update Posting Instructions Do you need help with this?

Next you were asked to download, scan, and post the logs from FARBAR for analysis. Do you need help with this, as well?

None of the directions you were given will harm your computer. Nothing will be deleted. Everything will remain the same.

We need you to follow our directions, or we will be unable to help you.

    Hope this helps,
    John

I think this solved : http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page...ewlocale=en_US There is no problem with having both. That is the reason to continue receiving update notifications for the WD.

and download the FSS... just in case

Returning to the main theme, all windows patches(October) are installed and working well

ESET must be the only major company that doesn't switch Defender off :)

So long as everything else is OK, then ... Good luck!
