How do I stop repeated updates of same Security Update

    Hi..

How can I stop the Security Update identified below from repeatedly updating my computer? This Security Update is installed each time I start my computer. I suspect it’s install each time I start my computer is responsible for my poor start up performance (i.e. long time required to start my computer)..

Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for x64-based systems (KB954430)

According to Update History the status is successful each time this Security Update is installed..

I’m using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with Service Pack 1

    Thanks,
    Bill…

Hello Bill, and welcome to Seven Forums.

One quick method would be to hide the update to prevent it from being available to be installed.

If you like, you could also see if the "For a Repeatedly Succeeding Update" section in the tutorial below may be able to help.
