I wasn't expecting it - but I'm not too surprised by it.

I'll have to think about this - back later.

    AsteriskCGY,

It looks like you may have incorrectly edited the list of driver operations in the registry. Please export this registry key and subkeys to a .reg file, and upload it.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\DriverOperations

Here's the entries from the log that indicate what is happening. At this point no servicing operations will succeed until this is cleared up. (The KB976933 problem Noel is looking at appears to be additional corruption, but may not be related to the current failure.)

    Code:
    2013-11-22 08:31:52, Info CBS Failed reading Inf for driver operation sequenceID 3 [HRESULT = 0x80070490 - ERROR_NOT_FOUND]
    2013-11-22 08:31:52, Info CBS Failed loading a driver operation [HRESULT = 0x80070490 - ERROR_NOT_FOUND]
2013-11-22 08:31:52, Error CBS Doqi: Failed loading driver operations queue. [HRESULT = 0x80070490 - ERROR_NOT_FOUND]
    2013-11-22 08:31:52, Info CBS Failed loading driver operation queue [HRESULT = 0x80070490 - ERROR_NOT_FOUND]

Here ya go. Yea before I had the issue of the reg cleanup not completing, which may be tied to that first one, and then trying that other fix for someone else's problem made things worse.

You need to completely delete this registry key, and then reboot and the uninstall should complete.

Try one more reboot. TrustedInstaller was not set to autostart, so it didn't have a chance to complete the pended operation. It should be ready now.

    Code:

2013-11-26 20:56:18, Info CBS No startup processing required, TrustedInstaller service was not set as autostart, or else a reboot is still pending.

2013-11-26 20:56:18, Info CBS NonStart: Startup processing is required unexpectedly, scheduled Trusted Installer for auto-start again. [HRESULT = 0x00000000 - S_OK]

Hey it looks like it worked. I have 5 gigs free on my drive. Anything else I should worry about?

Great - now please run the update instructions again, and post the new CBS folder and we'll see if there's any residual damage (Thanks again, Troy6!)

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

    C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 25% complete.

Looks like the files are still there and the remove is still erroring out. Scan works now though.
