Windows 7: Lost Windows Update Cleanup after attempted Fix

This might be because this HD was just a plain transfer from an older computer and I didn't feel like doing a format reinstall with the new hardware. Old one ran an AMD vid card, new one is Nvidia. Also Ccleaner feels like it mucked with stuff.

A distinct possibility!
CCleaner, while most of it is very good, has the misfortune of attempting to also be a 'registry cleaner' - and all such programs in my opinion WILL cause major problems with any PC, given half a chance.
The rest of the program is very good - and I use it myself.

The thing that worries me more about the above error than anything else is its apparent un-relatedness to the earlier error.

I've uploaded a file - agyac.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\agyac
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\agyac
or
DIR E:\agyac

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

XCOPY <drive>:\agyac <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

(e.g.XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply

FYI. You can feel free to delete the deepclean.log. Yours has grown extra large due to all the failed attempts to run the disk cleanup tool.

It looks as if the file never got replaced.....

Please run the following commands, and we may see what happened.

DIR C:\agyaa
RD C:\agyaa /S /Q
DIR C:\agyab
RD C:\agyab /S /Q
DIR C:\agyac
DIR C:\Windows\winsxs\agyac

post the results.

Here are some instructions to make life easier
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

Woops I deleted the first one you sent me since I didn't think it was needed anymore.
Annnd I accidentally did a DIR after agyab that wiped that part out. There was still a file in there though.

Ooops!
I knew something was wrong.... I uploaded the wrong version number

OK, lemme try again...

I've uploaded a file - agyad.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract

or

XCOPY <drive>:\agyad <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

(e.g.XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply

(Hopefully, I got it right this time! - sorry about that)
