Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 for Windows 7 x64-based Systems (KB2858

This is a new update being offered on only one of my two machines today, although it is unchecked. It appears to be related to support for foreign languages.

Does anyone know anything about it? Is anyone else being offered it? I can't personally see any reason to install it, and certainly not while it's unchecked.

That's the full replacement for .NET 4.0 - and in my (limited) experience is much less trouble than 4.0.

I've had the RC of it installed for so long I hadn't even noticed it hadn't ever updated :) (installed June 2013 - no updates in WU)
It'll be interesting to see if it updates to the RTM version as easily as it first installed .

(and it's nothing to do with languages)

I installed it today & all went well. It did require a restart though.

Probably because you had .NET 4 installed, while I had the RC of 4.5.1 installed. :)

I got mine today, also unchecked. I guess I must have .NET 4 already because there's 20 some updates installed.
@Noel, When I clicked on the 'More Information' link it does say something about languages.

I found out about it last night and I didn't have to restart my computer after installing it, but I thought after you installed a new version that you would get like 9 or 10 security updates relating to it

I previously uninstalled .Net v4.0 before updating to v4.5.1 Final. In case a corrupted .Net v4.0 it didn't mention.

The onlymentiony there about language packs is for when you have a non-English install, or multiple languages installed
