    Do I Need?

    Good Morning Folks:

    A quick question.

I have Microsoft Office 2010 i on my computer, but the only applications I have installed are Word and Power Point. What I would like to know is do I need to install updates for such applications as One Note, Excel, Visio Viewer, etc. ?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    Hello Powell,

If you have the hard drive space, then it would be best to install all Windows Updates since they could contain security patches in them as well.

    Thanks Brink:

The reason I ask is that my "notify me of updates" setting will not stick. In fact, even when I have it set to "never search for updates" the system keeps switching me back to automatic updating and yesterday it dumped 27 Office updates onto my computer and destabilized the entire computer. (I just recently reinstalled my O/S because of instability. I thought it was just a result of having IE-11 installed.) I have chasing the source of this instability for a week and this one caught me by surprise, so after running Restore I have been loading in updates one at a time and then checking the programs that were most affected by the instability and I just wondered if I could skip installing these particular updates.
As an aside, its been so long since I've needed help from you good people that I have forgotten how to get in to change my e-mail address. Please advise, and once again, many thanks for all your assistance.
    Best regards

Anytime mate. You could update your email address here: Edit Email & Password

Since you don't have those features installed, you should be fine to not install those updates if you like.
