How to check if new Windows 7 has already been activated

    Hi,
Short background: I bought an official Windows 7 Home Edition, but made a mistake and choose 64 bit in stead of 32 bit.
I sold this version to a guy but he wants to return it. That's no problem to me but how can I verify that he hasn't already installed it and used the productcode to activate this version?

I am quite sure I can trust him, but I want to be safe.
    Thanks
    Guus

You can't without installing it yourself and then trying to activate it.

    Might this work?
Microsoft offers the possibility to get support. This is free of charge if you can present a valid product-code. If I enter the product code of the Windows 7-cd, I get the message that the product code is not valid.
Could this mean that it hasn't been activated yet?

    Thanks again

Sorry, I've never come across that before, so I couldn't comment. NoelDP will know more about this than me, so I'll ask him to stop by here and offer his advice.

If you have the full product Key you can try ringing the Activation Center closest to you and asking them - they may or may not tell you.

    Use the list from here...
