Multiple failed Windows Update attempts, error 8024200D file KB2836502
Hello all!
This is my first post to this forum and, I must say, after perusing a few posts I'm excited to post my question. It looks like this is a great community.
I recently reformatted my computer due to intermittent crashes during resource intensive application sessions. The crashes have continued with decreased frequency (and make me suspect my PSU). However, my computer crashed during one of the first lengthy rounds of update installations after the reformat and I suspect that crash may have damaged a Windows Update installation. Since then I have always had an "updates available" prompt and the update fails each time it tries to run.
I think I have narrowed it down to a single update that is not correctly installing. I think this poster was encountering the same issue, but it seemed wise to follow the forum recommendation not not try solutions posted for others. :)
Per the forum guidelines here are the details of my problem:
1) Used SURT and got the attached SURT results.
2) Ran SFC and got the attached results.
3) Windows Update returns error code 80246007 for file KB2836502 (see attached).
4) The compressed CBS log folder was too larger to attach to the post. You can get it here.
Any and all help is much appreciated!!
Brock
