after moving partitions, windows not genuine

    Hi
Before my troubles started I had:
    partition 1: Ubuntu
    partition 2: empty
    partition 3: Windows 7
partition 4: ntfs used with windows 7

Then i decided to remove Ubuntu and the empty partition. I did that from Windows - Oops, I deleted the bootmanager (grub). So i booted up an Ubuntu Live cd and decided to create a new very small Ubuntu partition and then just add the rest of the free space to my ntfs partition. To do that I had to move the Windows 7 and ntfs partitions. I did that using GParted.

When I rebooted into Windows7 the windows bootmanager was broken. I have tried that before and know that I just need to repair it. So I did that with a repair disc. And Windows 7 booted up.

Now I cannot log in as a regular user, and as an admin i get a blue screen with the "This copy of Windows is not genuine" in the right bottom corner.
I can Ctrl+Alt+Delete my way to the task manager and run cmd from there. But I cannot use any programs from system32.

    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

Looks like something may have happened to the file system when gparted did some rearranging...

Try a repair install: Repair Install

Make sure to backup importaint data first

I canīt. I donīt seem to have any rights. I cannot run setup.exe from cmd. Then i tried starting explorer from the task manager - that actually worked - but from there i do have access to My Computer. I get "No such interface supported".

Running setup.exe from task manager gives me the following error: "Windows cannot find 'E:\setup.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." (Says that whatever file i try to run that must have admin rights)

In repairing the installation Windows has switched the drive letters. So that my original C: is now D: and vice versa

Yeah I got my users folder backed up ( obviously only AFTER i moved the partitions ).

So one question. I only have the Release Candidate download for now (And for some reason you cant buy a downloadable version of the full retail in Denmark). Will I have problems with activation and such once it is installed? Now that the final version has been released.

    Thanks again for your help

While you can't download the RC from Microsoft anymore...you can still get RC keys from them and activate.

May I remind you that you'll have until March 2010 before the timebomb starts shutting down the RC every 2 hours

    Thats WAY into the future

In thinking of going with the enterprise edition, just to avoid this Genuine problem again. However do you know if it can "upgrade" to an Ultimate edition later?

    You won't be able to...

Enterprise IS Ultimate...it is just for large corporations with VLs
