The problem here is an unusual one - the SYSTEM account registry entry is missing.

    I've uploaded a file - s1520a.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Save it to the default location
This should create a file s1520.reg (in the folder s1520a)

right-click on the file, and select Merge
Accept the warnings, - you should then get a 'Success' message.
    Close all windows, and reboot.

Run another MGADiag report, and post the results.

    Did you reboot?

(Yeah - you picked the right file, which was the minimal one I eventually opted to post)

Please run the following commands again - post the results....

    REG QUERY HKU
    REG QUERY HKU\S-1-5-20 /S

I was hoping that given the base install, the system would repopulate the registry key properly - but it seems likely that it hasn't. I'll test it myself tomorrow, and see if I can come up with a better solution.

    There's obviously something interfering

Please download and install Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free version) from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ - UNtick 'Enable free trial of MBAM PRO' at the end of the installation - and update it, then run a full scan in your main account, and Quick scans in any other user accounts.

    Delete everything it finds

Ok I ran everything they recommended here in this thread related to malware http://malwaretips.com/blogs/malware...e-for-windows/

It didn't reveal anything dangerous, just some tracking cookies which I deleted.

Here is an image of what the registry key looks like for [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\S-1-5-20]:

    03.29.2014-11.25.11 - SethLarrabee's library

If there is anything else we can try, I'm ready to give it a shot.

Please just follow the instructions - anything else is likely to give unpredictable results!

You have so far posted nothing but links to other sites (which are interesting, but...) and no real data at all.

I ran Malwarebytes as prescribed and there were no negative results. Looking back it looks like that was what you were asking me to do.

After rebooting, here are the latest MGADiag and registry results:

What's showing in your Regedit screenshot and what your output is from the command prompt shows are totally different.
I'm not sure even permissions issues would result in these differences. The only thing I can think of that would account for them is corruption at a low level.
The problem is how to deal with it, since it is likely to make the key difficult to delete.

I need to play, and see what I can find out.
    Back later.
