    Internet Explorer 11 Backfire

    platform : windows 7 premium 32 bit o.e.m

I'll try to discuss in as much details as i can this odd situation i am in since few days now.

1-so a laptop i have decided few weeks ago to install the internet explorer 11 from windows update
2-the update failed and lead me to a thread of pre-installations required i downloaded which but didn't install right away
3-i attempted a shut down and then windows gave the beloved "installing updates please do not turn off your computer"
4-it took above 2 hours at that state where eventually i decided it froze and powered of the laptop
5-the system restarted with ie 11 installed but crashing on open and also other programs related to internet giving errors or failing to start
6-after hours of googling i uninstalled it from "add remove progams" > "installed updates"
7-it demanded a restart and then i was reverted to ie 9 despite i had ie 10 installed pre the hassle but everything ran fine again
8-i was microsoft hell illiterate enough and installed the pre-installation updates where some installed and some claimed they were already installed then attempted to install internet explorer 11 again
9-failed to install again and lead me to same page and this time on shutting down it went to "installing updates please dont turn off your computer" but then this time finished up but after rebooting it went to the very same state of crashing on open and internet related programs acting weirdly
10-i uninstalled it again from "add remove progams" > "installed updates" (sorry for repetition but you get the feeling) and aha it reverted to ie 9 and everything working fine
11-and this is where i was still not thankful enough to the divine data powers and i attempted to install ie 10
12-now it failed , gave me same url for pre-installation packages , and like ie 11 did the "installing updates" on shutting down , and lovely enough it booted nicely , internet programs working , but no ie explorer at all
13-the ie folder in program files show very few dlls left , "add remove progams" > "installed updates" shows ie 10 installed but fail to uninstall it
14-turn windows features on or off > ie explorer 10 is ticked and switching its case back and forth does nothing as if its function broke
15-tried installation of ie 9 fails
16-tried installation of ie 10 fails
17-tried a googled force un-installation command line , does nothing
18-noticed mmc and all related snap ins claiming it can not work in absence of ie

and no , system restore was turned off or else i wouldn't have been here.
    sooooooooo , any suggestions ?
thank you for reading this really

The last successful SFC scan was on 12th May. - nothing found

The CheckSUR result (from today) shows that it found (and fixed) one problem.
    Code:
    Checking Component Store

The background CBS logs show the following problem...
    Code:

The IE11 installer reports the following error...
    Code:
    00:00.156: Started: 2014/05/12 (Y/M/D) 17:05:55.001 (local)
00:00.188: Time Format in this log: MM:ss.mmm (minutes:seconds.milliseconds)
    00:00.219: Command line: "C:\windows\TEMP\IE1DB6.tmp\IE11-SUPPORT\IEXPLORE.EXE" /CheckHardware "C:\windows\TEMP\IE1DB6.tmp\IE11-support\HardwareBlockingList.xml"
    00:00.297: INFO: Created DXGI Factory
00:00.328: INFO: Finished checking hardware. Return value is: 0x887a0002 (2289696770)
This appears to be a DirectX error, rather than anything else.
Many times this appears to be related to installs of STEAM software - but it's not definitive.

I can't make out any specific errors in the IE install logs

Please post the C:\windows\windowsupdate.log file - it may show something.

well true the incident happened few days ago but i laid it over till week end .
as for directx i might get it to update , honestly i hardly use this laptop for games where it might have not been updated in ions .

my main problem is inability to let any internet explorer version install .

my attempt today resulted that ie 11 claimed i have a higher version than the one to be installed despite that according to installed updates the installed version reads ie 10 and nothing is even installed .

is there a way to erase every trace of installation of ie so i might attempt a fresh installation of say ie 9 or 10 without them cry over higher version errors ?

    i did try force uninstall command line ( FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*9.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart" ) where i ran it over all versions but it was useless .

According to your Windows Update log, IE11 was successfully installed on the 11th May.
    Code:
    2014-05-11 20:04:03:258 1184 145c Report REPORT EVENT: {994B507D-0773-481E-A71C-5A49DC0D21E6} 2014-05-11 20:04:03:258+0200 1 199 101 {201C861A-6359-494A-82FA-66D48A767EE3} 205 0 AutomaticUpdates Success Content Install Installation successful and restart required for the following update: Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7

So - what is your real problem?
In my Installed Updates list, IE11 is buried in the 276 entries for Windows - it doesn't have its own group.

its not a matter of collecting blunt evidences Noel
right now i have no ie what so ever & on attempting to install any the message that i have a version higher than the one i am attempting to install & installed updates shows that i have ie 10 installed and wont uninstall

simply i am wondering if there was a possibility to force install ie , if not how to clean its installation entries and files to the extent windows believe no ie is installed so i can reinstall it

The only thing that may work is probably the command-line uninstall...

Internet Explorer 11 - Uninstall in Windows 7
You may need to also run the same command for IE10, and even IE9 - then build the system back up.

i did mention i tried that solution in early post .

question now would attempting to remove internet explorer setup files from windows\servicing\packages through a boot disc since permissions wont allow convince windows ie is not sat up or do i still need to tamper with registry ?
