    Windows update error 800B0100

    Hello!

I noticed a few days ago that I was getting error 800B0100 when Windows update was trying to install the three fixes below:
    KB2931356
    KB2926765
    KB2952664

I have searched around the Internet for a solution but am kind of stuck so I'm hoping someone here can offer some assistance.

What I have tried so far:
    1. System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) (Will post logs from this)

    2. sfc /scannow - Which ran without finding any errors.

    3. Followed Gerry C J Cornells advice a bit down in the thread: Getting Error code 800B0100 when installing Windows Update KB2931356 - Microsoft Community
That is to manually download the failing fixes from Microsoft Download Center and placing them in directory %SYSTEMROOT%\CheckSUR\packages and then re-executing the System Update Readiness Tool.
Well, that cleared up a bunch of the problems in my CheckSUR.log file but some of them are still there.
One problem is that the fix KB2952664 doesn't seem to be available for download from MS Download Center any more. Is this fix in error and has been cancelled by Microsoft?

There don't appear to be any problems in the SFC scan results.

I'll post a fix protocol in a few minutes.

    I've uploaded a file - wdmaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder wdmaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Did as you instructed and it seems to have cleared up some of the errors in the CheckSUR.log file.
I have uploaded a new zip-file with the logs from the last run of the CheckSUR tool.

'Some'? - it fixed all of them
Now please run SFC /SCANNOW again, and post the new CBS.log file - with luck that will have nothing new in it, so if it comes back saying 'nothing found' then try Windows Update again, after first doing a manual Check for Updates.

Sorry, I read the logs a bit to fast and mistook some of the entries there as similar to the previous ones.

Now, after running SFC /SCANNOW and then the CheckSUR tool once more the CheckSUR.log file says that it cannot find any problems any more.
Unfortunately, after manually checking for updates and then trying to install the three fixes in Windows Update I'm still getting the 800B0100 error. I even tried to reboot my PC, re-ran both SFC /SCANNOW and the CheckSUR tool once more and still get the same problem in Windows Update.

That failure appears to be caused by this error...
    Code:

I would suggest downloading the patch from the download center and running it as a standalone...

    Small steps forward...
I managed to successfully install the security update (KB2931356) and also update KB2926765 manually. So now the only update (of my initial three) that is left is KB2952664 which unfortunately still fails with 800B0100.

KB2952664 is one that I'd just hide - it's far from being important, and is not security-related.

There seems to be a lot of errors relating to the install of Win7 SP1 in the CBS log as well?

    Any idea why?

At one point I had kb2952664 hidden, then it suddenly disappeared. I then did some searching on it & found that it sounded like it was for getting ready to upgrade to w8. I'm not going to 8 so no problem that it's gone.
