Hi Llanita,

Have you got any further on with this?

I am in the exact same position and it happened the same day as you.

I have tried everything possible and it's driving me mad.

Looking like I may have to to a re-install.

Kerry run the scans until Noel picks up again. They are really just to eliminate some obvious stuff.

I have done. I've spent the last two days trying to work this out.

I'll try some more.

Might just have to do a re-install?

Kerry if you are considering an install then use this - it will get rid of all the bloatware
Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 just be sure you have all your important data backed up and I don't know if you do that anyway but this is a good way to do it - I set my machines to image weekly.

Make sure you pick only the version you have an activation code for see pic

That's your choice of course but it isn't so much of a big deal if you imaged the system before you did that Imaging with free Macrium

then this System Image Recovery

I am sure Brink or WHS would be more than happy to run through these a little more thoroughly tha I can because waiting for an answer to the problem may be quite along time.

We have a possible solution - but I need to check a couple of things first.

Please open an elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command,

REG LOAD HKLM\COMPONENTS C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS
REG QUERY HKLM\COMPONENTS

post the results.

Here are some instructions to make life easier
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

Hi Llanita,

I had a similar issue in the past. I was able to install them one at a time. Also, you can check to see if they are already installed and if they are, delete them and then try installing again. I am not an expert on this stuff by any means, but I have had a little luck in the past trying them methods. Hope it helps.
